New to The Lax SkillHaus?

Welcome! Here’s everything you need to know to get started.

Whether your daughter is picking up a stick for the first time or preparing for high school varsity,or is preparing for college or in college we have a place for her.  We offer training, video analysis, recruiting help and much more!

Not Sure Where to Start? We’ll Help You Find the Right Fit.

We know it can feel overwhelming when you’re looking at training options for the first time. That’s totally normal. Here’s a quick guide based on where your daughter is right now:

How It Works: 3 Simple Steps

Step 1: Book an Assessment
Book an Evaluation.  This hour session will be for us to evaluate you and develop a plan of what recommend for training.  We want to make sure we are setting each family up for success.  This evaluation allows us to get a good luck at your skill set and allows us to meet you and make sure you are comfortable with a plan moving forward

Step 2: Show Up Ready to Work

What to Bring to Your First Session
  • Lacrosse stick (we have loaners if she doesn’t have one yet!)
  • Goggles (required for field players)
  • Mouth guard
  • Turf shoes or indoor athletic shoes (no metal cleats indoors)
  • Water bottle
  • A great attitude and willingness to learn

We handle the rest.
Brand new and don’t have equipment? No worries — reach out and we’ll help you figure out what you need. We also have extra equipment if you need.

Step 3: Watch Your Daughter Grow
From day one, we’ll focus on building her confidence, her skills, and her love for the game. You’ll see the difference.

What to Expect at The SkillHaus
We’re not a drop-off practice. Every session here is intentional. Here’s what makes The Lax SkillHaus different:
  • Each player is first evaluated so we create small groups that will help your daughter grow and develop.  We know every single family that walks through the door.  When you join us- you become family.
  • Small groups, high reps. Your daughter won’t stand in line waiting for a turn. She’ll be moving, learning, and competing the entire session.
  • Coaching that meets her where she is. Whether she’s in 2nd grade in college, we adjust our approach to challenge her at her level.
  • Female-focused environment. This space was built for girls. She’ll train alongside athletes who share her drive.
  • Skills + character. We teach lacrosse, but we also develop leaders. Grit, confidence, and accountability are part of every session.
  • Real feedback. We’ll always be honest with you about where she is and what she needs to work on.

What actually happens when you walk in the doors to Skillhaus?
  • Before you arrive, you'll know exactly what to bring (stick, goggles, mouthguard, water, turf shoes — and loaner sticks are available if she doesn't have one yet).

  • When you get here, The Lax SkillHaus is an indoor turf facility — climate controlled, year-round, no mud, no cancelled practices for weather. You'll find us at 10315 S. Progress Way, Unit 8 in Parker. Parking is easy and you're welcome to stay and hang out in the lounge.

  • The first few minutes are low-pressure. Coach Crysti or Coach Britt will greet your daughter, get a quick read on where she is as a player, and explain what the session is focused on. She won't be thrown into the deep end.

  • During the session, she'll be moving the entire time. Our groups are small — 4 to 8 players max — which means she's getting reps, not waiting in line. Sessions are structured around specific skills: one day it might be stickwork, shooting, dodging, another day it's 1v1 attack play or draw work or positioning. Every drill has a purpose. Nothing is filler.

  • The coaching style is direct and positive. We will push her — that's the point — but we meet every athlete where she is. A 3rd grader picking up a stick for the first time gets coached differently than a sophomore trying to earn a starting spot. Both feel seen.

  • By the end, your daughter will have worked hard, had fun, and left knowing exactly what she did well and what she's working on next. You'll get a clear picture of where she is and what makes sense as a next step — whether that's booking more sessions, joining a group, or jumping into a camp.

  • No pressure. No confusion. Just good coaching and a daughter who can't wait to come back.

Common Questions from New Families

Q: Does my daughter need experience to start?
Not at all. We have programs for every level, including complete beginners. Our Tiny Tots (ages 3–5) and Little Laxers (grades 1–4) programs are designed specifically for girls who are just getting started.  We also offer classes for youth, MS, high school for beginners.

Q: How do I know which program is right for her?
If you’re unsure, just call or text us. We’ll ask a few questions about her age, experience, and goals, then we always do an assessment to get a personalized plan.

Q: Can she try a session before committing?
Yes! After your initial assessement we will set up a pathway that we know is right for your daughter

Q: What ages and levels do you work with?

The Lax SkillHaus is dedicated to female lacrosse development.

We train girls from age 3 through college level.

Our Tiny Tots program (ages 3-7) welcomes both boys and girls as a fun

first introduction to lacrosse — but all other programs (except for goalie training) are for female athletes.

Q: Do you train goalies?
Absolutely. Britt Read is one of the most respected goalie coaches in the country. We offer in-person and virtual goalie training at all levels.  We train boy and girl goalies of all ages.

Q: Where are you located?
We’re at 10315 S Progress Way, Unit 8 in Parker, CO 80134. It’s an indoor turf facility — we train year-round, rain or shine.

Q: What if she doesn’t have her own equipment yet?
We have loaner sticks and can help you figure out exactly what to buy when she’s ready. Don’t let equipment be the thing that holds you back from getting started.

Q: Can I stay and watch?
Absolutely. Parents are welcome to stay in our waiting room. We prefer you don't watch full sessions as its the athletes time to build a relationship with us and find it better when parents allow that to develop.  However, the last 10 mins parents are always welcome to take a look!

Q: How long are sessions?
Group sessions and private lessons are 60 minutes. Camps run 2 hours per day. We start and end on time.  If we are running behind we will always make up the few extra minutes.

Q: What if she's shy or nervous?
That's completely normal and we see it all the time. Our coaches are experienced with first-timers and know how to make a nervous kid feel comfortable quickly. Give it 10 minutes — almost every shy kid is laughing by the end of the session!

Q: What will she actually work on in the first session?
For a brand new player — stickwork, catching, and throwing in a fun, game-based format. For an experienced player — we'll assess what she needs most and build from there. Either way, she leaves with something concrete to practice.

Q: What do I do if she doesn't love it after one session?
Reach out to us directly. We want every athlete in the right program. If the fit isn't right, we'll help you figure out what is — even if that means pointing you somewhere else. We're not here to take your money. We're here to develop your daughter.
